RTW Resort: Caribe
Sketchbook page 1
Looking at unique Flora & Fauna I bring the concept of sanctuary and value together through knowledge and understanding of different cultures from different places. This collection highlights on the the nature of Puerto Rico and its sister islands of the Caribbean Archipelago.

Concept development: we were given the concept of Sanctuary, as a starting point for our development. I began with image research and collaging for color, textile and shape explorations. I drew most of my inspiration for shape from natural elements such as the roots and branches from the trees and flowers, the Flamboyan in particular.
For materiality, I chose mostly linens as it is an easy to breathe fabric perfect for the hot and humid year round weather conditions in the Caribbean.
The goal for this collection is to provide a ready to wear resort collection inspired by the flora and fauna of the Caribbean crafted for a mature audience.
